BrookPoint Desktop Ltd is the registered business name. The studio was established in 2019 in Bristol and remains based at Office 7, 58 Test Street, Bristol ZZ4 4AC.
How we began
In 2019, two former regional analysts tired of watching board packs bury geography under spreadsheet averages. They rented a small Bristol desk, bought a large-format printer, and started drawing sales density by hand-tuned colour scales for a handful of South West retailers. Word travelled through field sales managers who wanted a wall map they could stand in front of — not another login screen.
What we do now
Today BrookPoint Desktop prepares geographic sales heatmap reporting for retail chains, wholesalers, and multi-territory field teams across Great Britain. We still draw for print as carefully as for screens. Every colour band is chosen so a photocopy in a warehouse office still reads clearly.
Working approach
- Prefer anonymised postcode-level sales over personal customer data
- Agree the decision the map must support before the first draft
- Keep legends stable across quarterly refreshes so year-on-year shifts stay honest
- Speak in the language of catchments, sectors, and routes — not jargon for its own sake
People
Marta Ellison leads map design and colour-scale discipline. Jon Park handles data checks, GB boundary alignment, and client scoping calls. Both remain involved in every flagship Geographic Sales Heatmap Report; we do not hand finished packs to a nameless production queue.
Values with clients
We would rather delay a draft than shade a thin-data sector as if it were dense. We document caveats in plain English. When a map challenges a favourite territory story, we say so early — before the board pack is locked.
